Miguel grew up with the basic medicinal kit being composed of garlic, aloe Vera, peppers, rue, calendula, fruit leafs, honey, arnica and others that he can only recall by their strong smells and tastes. At age 4, Miguel’s whole family moved to the United States. After graduating as an electrical technician Miguel took off traveling throughout South America encountering very interesting individuals one in particular caught his attention, a renowned herbalist, Mrs. Maria Almeida from a small town outside of the city of Posadas, in the northern province of Misiones, Argentina. Linda Zielski
Linda’s experience in the healing arts began over 25 years ago when she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from Southern Connecticut State University. Linda went on to graduate from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 1996.
In 2003, after several years practicing massage and nutritional counseling in Connecticut, Linda became the CEO, Founder, and Visionary of Seaside Naturals Inc, a manufacturer and marketer of all-natural cleaning and personal care products and a socially responsible business. While building Seaside Naturals, she researched and sourced ingredients and formulated products in addition to supervising the branding and marketing of products. Linda’s passion for formulating natural products and dedication to environmentally sustainable lifestyle practices led her to Darin Olien, founder of Darin’s Naturals, in early 2009.
Linda was immediately drawn to Darin’s dynamic, curious approach to formulations and environmentally and socially responsible business. Linda was equally inspired by Darin’s knowledge of global farming practices and participation in eco-village concepts. Taken by the overwhelming energy of Darin’s Naturals’ message and motivated by a newfound understanding of consciousness, Linda signed on to the Darin’s Naturals team in early 2010. She is deeply grateful for this opportunity to learn each day from the brilliant minds, expertise, and experience of Darin Olien, Miguel Berumen, Paige Hetherington and Emily Stein. Linda is more passionate than ever about returning to a toxin-free planet and generating the optimum environment for all of Earth’s creatures to enjoy a full and joyous life!
Paige Hetherington, L.Ac. graduated with honors from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA. She is also a National Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Her early interest in natural healing began while doing ethnobotanical research for Cornell University in Central America and the Eastern Caribbean. During that period, she had the opportunity to document plants used by traditional healers in tropical forests. She has also trained as an Ashtanga Yoga instructor and has studied herbal medicine and natural healing since 1996. Her work at Darin’s Naturals supports a passion for utilizing the power of plants as a means for greater health and awareness in our world.
Emily Stein
Emily Stein joined the Darin’s Naturals team in early 2011, after acquiring a BA in Urban Studies at Hunter College in New York City. During her years in New York, Emily worked in grassroots community outreach and provided PR support for various child and family-based non-profits.
While familiarizing herself with the interests of numerous social welfare programs, Emily found there to be an alarming gap in access to comprehensive health information. She began to question why the mental and physical health services provided through these organizations was most often reactionary, rather than preventative. It became obvious that there must be a better way of serving the public and helping to protect the physical and mental health of community members everywhere.
Emily found Darin’s Naturals through her personal quest for optimum, conscious living. She is thrilled to join Darin’s Naturals in promoting the equitable distribution of conscious lifestyle concepts and information about the healing powers of whole, functional foods.
